Welcome to

The ASSIST Study!

The purpose of this study is to develop and evaluate a new web-based training for sorority members about how to support fellow sorority sisters and promote healthy behaviors.

About the study

This study involves developing an online program called ASSIST – Alcohol-focused Support of Survivors In Sororities Training.

This training has been developed by a multi-researcher team, and refined with feedback from campus community stakeholders and fellow sorority sisters.

With your participation, we hope to create a training that could be easily implemented within sororities at multiple colleges and universities.

What is happening now?

Right now, we are seeking sorority chapters at the University of Washington to test out the new, web-based training! Participating chapters will receive $500.

If your chapter is participating, you will be asked to complete 5 online surveys and a web-based training (about 15 to 45 minutes each) over 7 months. Participants will complete online surveys about their own behaviors and experiences, and provide feedback about the training. Participating chapter members can receive up to $150 in Amazon gift cards.

If your chapter is participating, check your inbox for an email!

Right now, are gathering feedback from sorority members to refine the training.

We are looking for active sorority members ages 18-22 to provide feedback! Participation consists of meeting virtually with a member of the research team for 90 to 120 minutes. During this time, participants will complete an online survey about their own behaviors and experiences, as well as participate in an interview to give feedback about the training.

Participants will earn a $75 Amazon e-gift card for their participation.
